The Faculty of Islamic Studies (FIS), Universitas Islam Internasional Indonesia (UIII), held a small farewell lunch on 25 November 2025 to conclude Prof. Ayman Shihadeh’s fellowship period as an IGC Senior Fellow, which took place from 8 October to 26 November 2025.

Prof. Shihadeh, an esteemed intellectual historian of the Islamic world at SOAS University of London, with which FIS has a partnership in the Dual Degree program. He specializes in the history of theology, philosophy, and broader intellectual and religious culture. His presence at FIS has enriched academic discussions and fostered deeper partnerships between both institutions.

During his stay, he delivered a well-attended public lecture on 6 November 2025, titled “Fakhr al-Dīn al-Rāzī’s Philosophical Project,” organized by the Center for Islam and Global Challenges (IGC). The lecture provided valuable insights and sparked meaningful dialogue among students, researchers, and faculty members.

In hosting the farewell lunch at the IGC Office, FIS and IGC expressed their sincere gratitude to Prof. Shihadeh for his significant contributions, which include fostering scholarly exchange, providing mentorship, and broadening the collaboration between FIS and SOAS University of London. His engagement has left a notable impact on the faculty’s intellectual environment.

FIS UIII extends its heartfelt thanks to Prof. Shihadeh and looks forward to future collaborations that continue to strengthen global academic dialogue in Islamic studies.
