The Faculty of Islamic Studies, Universitas Islam Internasional Indonesia (UIII), and the Istiqlal Mosque Management Body (Badan Pengelola Masjid Istiqlal/BPMI) officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at the UIII Campus in Depok.
The signing marks an important milestone in the ongoing partnership between the two institutions, particularly in the areas of education, research, and community engagement. One of the key objectives of this collaboration is to provide opportunities for FIS UIII students to undertake internships and independent study projects at Masjid Istiqlal as part of their academic development.
This collaboration opens new pathways for students to gain practical experience in various programs managed by BPMI—ranging from community services and religious education initiatives to public communication, management, and cultural activities. Through this initiative, students are expected to deepen their understanding of Islamic practices in real-world contexts and strengthen their skills in leadership, social service, and religious communication.

In his remarks, Prof. Yanwar Pribadi, Ph.D., Acting Dean of the Faculty of Islamic Studies, stated:
“We have been collaborating with Istiqlal for quite some time, but this is the first time the partnership is formally endorsed through an MoU. With this agreement, we hope the collaboration will bring meaningful impact and benefits to both parties.”

The MoU also reflects a shared commitment between UIII and BPMI to develop educational collaborations that bridge academia and practice, ensuring that Islamic higher education remains connected to the needs of society.
With this formal partnership, the Faculty of Islamic Studies aims to further enhance its students’ academic journey by integrating field experience and professional engagement into the curriculum, while Istiqlal gains the opportunity to collaborate with young scholars and contribute to nurturing Indonesia’s next generation of Muslim intellectuals.
