The Faculty of Islamic Studies (FIS) at Universitas Islam Internasional Indonesia (UIII) hosted SHARE: Shut Up & Write 2025, a focused thesis writing camp held on 2–3 June 2025 at the Meeting Hall, 7th Floor, Jusuf Kalla Library. Designed for Islamic Studies master’s students currently working on their theses, the program offered dedicated writing time, academic consultation, and motivational support to help students stay productive and on track.

The two-day camp was officially opened by Dr. Zezen Zaenal Mutaqin, Dr. Haula Noor, and Dr. Abdelrahman Muhammad, who encouraged students to approach their thesis writing with confidence and discipline. “Writing a thesis is not just about finishing a requirement, it’s about shaping your scholarly voice,” Dr. Zezen shared during the opening session.

One of the main components of the program was a session led by Dr. Noor, who outlined key thesis writing guidelines and introduced students to the Pomodoro technique, a proven time management method that uses timed intervals and structured breaks to maintain focus and avoid burnout. The technique was applied throughout the camp to help students manage their time effectively during writing sessions.

SHARE 2025 also provided one-on-one consultation sessions between students and their supervisors, allowing participants to receive direct feedback, ask detailed questions, and clarify their writing direction. These sessions helped demystify many aspects of the thesis writing process, reducing stress and reinforcing the faculty’s support system.

True to its name “Shut Up & Write” the camp emphasized focus in writing, but also recognized the importance of students’ wellbeing. The event ended on a high note with a casual BBQ session, allowing students and faculty to relax, connect, and celebrate two full days of hard work.

With its mix of academic rigor and friendly atmosphere, SHARE 2025 successfully combined structure and support, making thesis writing a little less lonely and a lot more empowering.
